The Consul General of Finland visited the Seaport of Vyborg

On December 10, the Consul General of Finland in St. Petersburg Sannamaria Vanamo paid a visit to the Seaport of Vyborg.

In the port, the General Director of Port Logistics Ltd, Olga Ansberg and the deputy head of the regional administration Andrei Goloborodko met the delegation. During the visit, the parties discussed possible options for interaction in such spheres as economy, ecology, tourism and cross-border cooperation.

The discussion was mainly focused on the ongoing cross-border cooperation project VIP&Ko: Connecting Vyborg, St. Petersburg and Kotka by sea routes and improving safety and border crossing customer experience of future passenger lines. Olga Ansberg presented the latest information on the project implementation and mentioned the project partners: Finnish Strategic Development Agency «Cursor» and the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg «Marine Facade». She also pointed that in this project Port Logistics Ltd is responsible for arrangement and modernization of the passenger terminal in the seaport of Vyborg, including separation of service areas for cabotage and international passenger traffic.

Mrs. Sannamaria Vanamo expressed interest in the project and noted that Vyborg and the Vyborgsky district are very important for development of cross-border cooperation between Finland and Russia. She also noted that this was her first visit to Vyborg and the city made a great impression on her.

After the official meeting, the Finnish delegation went on a tour around the port. Then, Olga Ansberg presented Mrs. Vanamo the book written by Dmitry Semenov «Harbor. Pier. Port», which tells the history of the port of Vyborg through the prism of documentary materials.
